What are you canning now?

Spaghetti sauce the last 2 days........and hot peppers this evening

Instead of making another batch of pepper jelly I think I'm going to try a pepper and onion relish this weekend. Any good recipes?
This is a store brand I like. Just read the ingredient list and it has cabbage in it in addition to the peppers and onions, would never have guessed that.
It's sweet and the "sauce" is somewhat jelly like, not runny at all.

I'm not much of a couponer. I rarely find them for stuff I use, and had basically given up on them several years ago, but when I heard about the ball coupons recently it really peaked my interest and I found out a little tid bit that may be helpful to others. There are coupon clipping services online. It's illegal to sell coupons themselves, but it's not illegal to pay someone else to clip them for you. So you can pay a clipping/handling fee (a few cents for a dollar off coupon, for instance) and these services will send you the coupons you want. Now, for someone like me who never finds as many coupons in a newspaper as the newspaper costs, this is a pretty nifty deal. I can "buy" the coupons I'll actually use for a few cents and bypass all the stuff I don't use. AND I can get multiples of the ones I do use so it works out even better for me.

I ordered several of the ball jars coupons, some for puffs tissues as it's the only brand I buy, some for Method cleaning products and so on and so forth -- again only things I would be buying anyway, including the brand of the thing I would be buying -- and ended up paying $3.94 (including shipping) for $35 worth of coupon savings. Not too shabby.

This service has the ball coupons.

I'm a big coupon cutter too... I get a TON of ball coupons... I'm also a big canner... so I run out of jars and go through those coupons like water!!!

Ebay does it too. I am both a buyer and a seller. I find that coupons for food aren't really that great, but other things are. I scored a bunch of Purex earlier this year for $40...have enough to last until Christmas at least.

you really have to know what stores have what items on sale each week (they go through cycles) and have great organization to get it all to work out but sometimes it is worth it.

No worries BarefootMom, I do enjoy my spoils from a great shopping trip! I do hit Harris Teeter on their triple coupon days, and I hoard coupons from online as well as the papers.... and those flyers I get in the mail. It feels good to supply food & extras for the family when I'm actually UNDER budget.

I did get a notice on Saturday only, e-vic customers get TP 12 rolls for $4.77. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo there!!!!

our area has the really bad coupons..I mean they raised the paper to $3 and there are literally 10 coupons in it..mostly for high priced cleaning systems (IE: Mop/cleaner system) or eye contact care stuff...

anyway; back to canning:

canned 16 pints of diced tomatoes the other day...

tonight; going to can some sauce...
and another gallon of refrigerated pickles...

my neighbors son brought me a TON of potatoes from his garden..monday or tuesday I'll can those!

Just to jump back on the coupon thing for one more second and then I'm done!

I started a group on another thread we could all use to post coupon and savings related links and specials that are going on. Figured we could all use help saving money, what better then a community like this to help one another out!

I wanted to show what I have managed to get done. Keep in mind I've sold over 100 jars so far this year and I'm behind after being sick for almost a month.
