What are you canning now?

In my opinion we can all benefit from eating less sugars of all kinds.
I totally agree,
I just didn't want anyone thinking agave was fine for diabetics, as someone above suggested.
My aunt died from diabetic complications, and I really would hate to see someone purchasing something they were told was "sugar free", and have it not be.

I am by no means trying to preach at all, just trying to save a life.

Preach away, don't mean anyone will listen.

Lord know some smokers don't.

It is not worse. It is lower glycemic. I'm pretty much thinking, though, if you are diabetic, stay away from sweets, period. When I had gestational diabetes fake sweeteners messed up my blood sugar too!

Does anyone have any recipes for blackberry jam besides "traditional" plain jam?
Things on my list already:
Blackberry Bay Jam
Blackberry Ginger Jam

Any other go to recipes?

Triple Berry (Blackberry, Strawberry, Raspberry) It never lasts long, it's everyone's favorite.

I also have these in my canning books:
Blackberry Black Currant Jam
Blackberry Vinegar
Blackberry Liqueur Sauce

And I've been thinking of trying blackberry rhubarb. (making up my own recipe)

I made ch-ot-um jam yesterday. Cherries, pluots, and plums. I just had bits and pieces getting soft so I threw them all together. Its yummy!

My birds won't eat strawberries. Lucky my turtles do.

Thanks!

I was just given a bushel of tart apples...now off to decide what to do with them.

Beets are coming on in my garden. Enough baby ones for pickled beets. I canned four pints.

Used the sun ripened raspberries to make up two gallons of vodka/Raspberry cordial. Sits for four weeks before straining and bottling.

Raspberries, sweet cherries and strawberries are done. I froze a bunch. Blueberries coming on now.
