Wow, sonew...that's awesome!!  My quest for the next few days is similar...I can only pray to hit paydirt like you did!

I has passed this place literally hundreds of times! Never went in...until yesterday on a whim...When I see farmers markets...I know the prices and thats enough to keep me away because of how expensive it would be...but wow this place was amazing...Also bought 10 huge mangos for .50 each! Im going back next Monday!! Thank goodness its an hour away!

Today my boys and i are making salsa with the 15 gallons of cherry tomatoes we picked this morning. This time I am going to use mrs. wages salsa mix (doctored up with lots of hot peppers of course) Has anyone tried this mix? How has it turned out for you? I wish my DW would get interested in the garden and chickens. She is the stereotypical city girl though.... eventually I will get her to convert to the easy life!!

I've not used the mix...in general I prefer to find a recipe, tinker with it til it's what I like and stick with that. I'm not keen on hot stuff...have a really, really sensitive palate, and I found a salsa recipe that works great for me. I figure that anyone who likes it hot can add some hot stuff to it, LOL

I usually use my own recipe, but saw this in the store and figured I would give it a try, for $1.34 why not.

I hear ya...a mix is often a good place to start. I do that with spaghetti sauce...I start with Prego and the "jazz" it up to our taste

My uncle just did the same thing!!!! He kinda made his own salsa, but added Mrs. Wages to season it... it was very good, not spicy, but very fresh tasting if that makes sense LOL. I don't know what all he doctored it up with, but i know there was lots of cilantro

I liked it a lot!
