I had taken a job with a mining company to photograph some property lines. That was a lie. I walked into a long time dispute between families that went back nearly 200 years.
When my very, very soon to be wife had me detained by the ranch hands as a spy, neither she nor me had any idea we would spend the next 35 years together.

I ended up inheriting -- along with Marina's youngest sister -- almost a million hectares of ranch, called simply the station.

I am home for now, but I'm leaving soon and I will not be back. I'm taking my hens, and my dog. They saved my life several times over the past few weeks and I owe them the best, at least.

Where im going there is no internet. So it's goodbye -- more or less -- aside from the odd time I'm in range.

No kidding, this is what the place looks like! -- mostly. And our horses are way better.

I just took the dog out. The temperature is minus 1. The sky is clear. The moon and Jupiter were lurking about. God I love this land
