What are you paying for feed?

$25.30 for 50lb certified organic soy-free broiler feed, and that's before shipping, which is more than the feed. They will switch to layer feed when they start laying, and that is $23.20 for 50lb before shipping. I guess I'm crazy, but organic is my top priority. Making food for myself that is free of harmful chemicals, etc, is the whole point to this project for me. I eat organic, so my birds do too. It's well worth it to me.

I get mine at a local feed mill, prices changes as corn prices change. Last week it was 8.00 for 50 lbs. It's 16% protein and ground fresh.

i buy blueseal brand layer mash and its 10.45 abag for 50 lbs so about 21 dollars per 100 lbs not too shabby. cracked course corn is going for 10.50 for a50lb bag also

On the New Mexico Texas border, I just paid $11.00 for scratch and $11.00 for layer crumbles. The pellets were too big for my hens to eat comfortably and they just scattered them on the floor of the run... They prefer left over salads, peels, veggies and whatever else we give them from the night before. they are very fat and very happy!

I think I have the record so far for non-organic feed.

We live in the city and pay $16.99 or $17.99 (can't remember which) at our local feed store for a 50 lb bag of Purina laying crumbles ($34 or $36 for 100 lbs).

If anyone near Phoenix knows where to get it cheaper, please let me know.
