What are you reading? (or books you highly recommend)

Has anybody read anything by Darcy Coates or Wendy Wang? Today I noticed a free ebook called Haunting Charlie. I don't do Kindle, I like to smell & feel the paper, but I might be willing to 'borrow' DH's kindle for a good, free book.

Sorry nope. The title does sound interesting. Worth a try since it's free, yes? :)

So does mine but I stopped using them a few years ago... I don't remember why...maybe because of the software/app that was required and you had due dates, if I remember right.

ETA It's called Overdrive
Yes overdrive..
We use it in our house for both the public library and out kids school libraries.
Yes there is an due date BUT you can alway re check it out before it is due.

I read one of them & I guess it was nothing to write home about because I cant remember which one I read, or what it was about. A ghost? A psychic? A mystery? Whatever is was, it was better than the book I got a few weeks ago from the library. I checked it out because it looked like something I'd watch on PBS, but its so boring, I just cant get thru it.

Lily's Crossing
it's another young adult historical fiction

Its set during WWII, a girls dad is drafted into the military while she and her gram go to their summer home, unknown to them at the time the neighbors have a hungarian refugee. I think its supposed to be a coming of age book, told from the girls perspective. An easy quick read

A few weeks ago I read a book out of DD1s bookshelf. I assumed she had all teen books in there, but the one I grabbed definitely wasn't. When she saw which one I had she warned me there was a lot of graphic sex in it. She DIDNT warn me there was a lot of graphic sex between a human & a ghost. Apparently the genre is 'Paranormal Romance' ... I feel so old.

I guess DD1 isn't the 12-year-old I was picturing, then.

Nope. The 13yr old you've met was told by her 16yr old sis that she was definitely not allowed to read it (thank heavens! :bow) I reiterated to DD2 after I read it that she definitely didn't want any part of that.

So...did you like it?

I'm reading Travels with Charley in Search of America by Steinbeck. I definitely like his perspective on things. Oh and Charley is his dog.
