What are you reading? (or books you highly recommend)

I also have "Lapsing into a Comma". :D

Do you have "An Exultation of Larks"? LOVE LOVE LOVE that one on my shelf of books about words...
Nope. Those books are sadly lacking from my shelves. I have a lot of classics, old college books, language books, and other stuff... 10 years of horse magazines, full set of encyclopedias.... Millions of kids' books. Need to declutter.

I'm too cheap to pay much for books. I've amassed my collection slowly, over the years, from yard sales and such.

I find the best books at my local goodwill store...for cheap!
Every year for Christmas my kid's whole class gets a "new" book...they always get so excited to get a book too and have learned to expect them as gifts from my kids.

My writing skills are getting worse by the minute...I need to call it a night.
:th

What kind of kids (human) do you all have? I have one grown son. He's 26 even though I'm far too young to have a kid that old. I read to him even before he was born. Yeah, doesn't always work. He never read by choice as he grew up. I blame his father. lol
One daughter 18 step son only five months older than her. . and step daughter 19. Ask me how my life has been for the last four years with three teenagers ! Lol I'm way too young to be going grey!

I'm leary of them myself. I've never read Ole Yeller. Never seen that movie, Marley & Me, despite the fact that it seem everyone else in the world has watched it. I've never even watched Bambi. Just can't do it.
or where the red fern grows :hit books make me cry even though not much else does

I've read or seen all of those... Sad! Sad! Sad! :hit

I just started reading "Shadow Magic" by Joshua Khan. Its a medieval fantasy. I have zero time for reading right now, but this thread is giving me book withdrawals. This is one of my kids books, so it shouldn't take me too long to get thru it. Its been pretty good so far.
lol, i like reading the teen/kid books for an easy change-of-pace
