WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? WHAT DID YOU JUST RECEIVE?

Forget about trying to 'correct' your little furbaby!! My little chihauhau Zoe? She is beyond obsessed with my chickies. I thought she was going to have a heart attack when I moved them out to the coop yesterday....GEEEEZ!!!

Quote: Yeppers! That's exactly what I did, too! I ditched the traditional heat lamp and used a 150-watt plain old bulb and then switched down to a 60-watt...(great minds think alike, eh?!!!)

Couldn't wait until you moved into the home till you got chicks, huh? I too have rushed things in the past even though they did'nt make much sense. I once adopted a dog while I was in a "no dogs" rental knowing I'd be in a "dogs allowed" rental in two weeks. Good luck!
LOL How about I put my home up for sale because I wanted chickens? I live in a nice home and I love it....but....need acreage, space, bigger house and get out of the city. The housing market is on the rise and it is supposedly a buyer's market. BUT the big banks are dumping their distressed foreclosures and there isn't much out there for those of us who do not have a couple of hundred thousand lying around in the bank to buy and repair a home with no financing. Just an average wage earning chicken keeper here. Hmmm...wonder how much I can get for all of these eggs? Ironically, I can't eat eggs! Bet you really think I am nuts now, huh?

Yay! just got one Black Copper Maran added to my order, I will watch for another! I chk it almost every hour. You never know when someone may cancel. Was going to grab the Olive Egger, but someone else snatched her up while I was on the phone and they were looking up my order. Gotta be on your toes!

They make me nervous the way they will be all zipping around playing, eating, drinking, flapping their wings... and then a group runs over close to the light, comes to a halt, and just basically collapses in a pile for a 5 minute power nap. Then the cycle repeats.

And here is the dog who is OBSESSED with them.

I have two Chihuahuas that are obsessed with them too! I don't know what it is but the little one "Mister Bones" will not leave them alone. And My sister's border collie whines at them. I have chairs blocking the brooder. And DITTO on the frantic antics of the baby chicks. Thankfully I have not lost any of mine. I got 10 and they are all very healthy, at least I think they are. No problems that I know how to identify.

They were doing good at lunch. Doggie was excited to get to see them again. I fluffed up their food and made it "new" again and got quite the feeding frenzy going. Hopefully they'll be large enough for my troughs soon. Some are just so tiny right now that I thought the paper plates would be easier for them.

I'm not getting any chicks from the mail, but later this month a friend is going to be bringing four chicks of random breeds from their friend's. :) They might be older chicks, they might be younger. Somewhere between 1 day - 12 weeks. Definitely excited!
