I ordered my chicks on December 5th and they are due to arrive in 9 days!!! I can't wait! Here is what I ordered:

1 Meyer Meal Maker


Ducklings:

4 Rouens
4 Buff Ducks
4 Blue Swedish

This will be my first time owning chickens.. we were going to try last year and life was too crazy to attempt it.

I have an order in with Sandhill, but since they are first come, first serve, I may not get the order so I went ahead and put in a different order with Welp that should arrive mid-April. I'm super excited!

Sandhill's order should I get it would be 25 chickens:
6 Lavendar Orpingtons
6 Ameraucana
6 Blue Wheaten Marans
3 Red Pyle Cubayala
4 Exchequer Leghorns
all straight run

Welp's order will be 32 chickens:
5 Speckled Sussex
5 Buttercup
5 Partridge Rock
5 Barred Rock
5 Silver Leghorn
7 Buckeyes
all pullets except for 2 Buckeyes

.. honestly there are so many breeds it's super addicting to look at them and be like, "Oh I want that one! Oh look at that one there!" LOL. I really, really wanted to get a couple bantams, but got looks of horror when I broached the subject. No one in my family wants little eggs apparently :/

bahhaha sounds like me.. its why i was going to go with one of each for my 5 but because they were out of speckeled sussex till june i decided to go with two buff orps cause i heard they were super sweet <3's

My chicks did not show this morning!

Im really hoping that maybe someone missed the memo, and they will be delivered at my door with my mail but I have a gut feeling, I won't be seeing them till later like tomorrow, or later in the week. Tracking info said today, but there is no update about it being at my post office, although, Im not sure if it would update again or if it would once they were delivered? I didn't sleep a wink cause of all the excitement, so in grave need of coffee this morning!

Promise to share pictures....whenever these little fuzz balls show up!

canceled my order with Ideal cause for whatever reasons they wont have standard chicks till may. so i pulled up metzer and am getting 2 khaki campbell, 3 welsh harlequin, and 1 blue runner ducks all female from them instead. they should ship out 2 weeks from today on march 24th
