They're here!! I was waiting for a phone call but they actually delivered them to my door! All are upbeat and thirsty and ravenous! I love them so much already, I feel like I'm hovering too much. Making a hardboiled egg (whites for me, yolks for them) for a snack tonight!

I have 4 new chicks due to arrive at 3pm per the USPS site. Can't wait! I'll post pics when they come in.

Oh, wow, they just arrived at your house. Did the PO know you were going to be home? I hope they don't do that to mine as I can't be home that day (I'll be able to leave work for a few hours or come in late, but not to stay home and wait. I do plan on calling my PO when I get the official shipping notice.

I visited them on Saturday with easter candy and my phone # and name attached letting them know I was expecting chicks Tuesday or Wednesday. They said they have dealt with chick shipments before and would give me a call. They were really nice about it. I had my phone with me all day yesterday and today and then the doorbell rings and there they were! I took the week off as a mini vacation, so they're lucky I was home!

I am waiting on swedish ducks to hatch today is late day 26 tonight at 9 starts day 27 so could be from now until Friday(if they are pokey).I have 7 set hoping for at least 3..(shipped eggs)

Oh, wow. I hope they do not do that here. We just moved, so I don't even know what time of day the mail runs. The dogs are loose outside, so there would be no surviving if they just left them.

I do have a question about my barred rock bantam. She is loud! Everyone else is fine, but she does these loud chirps like she is yelling at everyone, but her actions are completely normal. It would be like if I did my every day routine normally but shouted "hey! Hey! Hey!" all the time. Temperature is at 93 under the light, 86 in the darkest corner, and plenty of clean water with Save a Chick in it and food they can all access. Maybe she is just really talkative? It reminds me of when I had cockatiels and one would sing loudly to his reflection in a super loud way that wasn't screaming.

Never mind. I warmed up the brooder a couple more degrees and added a soft, fuzzy, cloth for the barred rock to snuggle with and she calmed down.
