What are your other hobbies?

I've made a few quilts years ago. I tried cross stitch on a replica of one from 1756. I still have it, undone tho. Now I do stained glass pieces, read alot, gardening is big with me since my yard is mostly gardens except a small patch of front yard that's grass. Taking care of chickens, and paranormal research, ghost hunting. I love being outside walking in the woods. I guess that's it.

I love to bike. Hubby and I biked up Afton mtn last weekend! I also love to garden - veggie and flower - pretty much whatever the deer will let me have..!

But I'ld have to say biking is the top priority. Hubby and I hope to bike cross country in about 5 years. We've biked the Pyrennes to Paris following the Tour de France (2003) and sections of the Tour of Flanders and Paris Roubaix while watching a week of the spring classics bike races!

Very interesting! I've never heard of geocaching either, but sounds like fun.

I don't have a ton of time anymore (kids LOL! but I adore them, so was happy to exchange some of my free time.) I'm an avid reader (the word VORACIOUS comes to mind), Love to camp (not real camping if there is running water
tongue.png
), I do like to fish although i have an attack of conscience trying to put a worm on a hook, and only do catch and release. I love to hike, but haven't gone in a long time since my dad was my main hiking partner, and due to busy lives and his age it's hard to go. I used to write a lot, and I love to garden. I do some crocheting, and am learning how to quilt. I love photography (especially the moodiness of b&w). I also love a good movie and good music ('modern rock'... LOL which used to be called alternative). I adore animals, and have my entire life. Someday when my kids are bigger I'll pursue some college for a career related to them. There isn't much on dog behavior that's new to me. I'm loving my chickens, and I'm really trying to understand what makes them tick, although at present I can only say I SORT of understand them!

My pet project is figuring out how to live 'off the grid', although I admit we are a long long way from there at present. I do manage to freeze enough veggies to last part of the winter, though, so feel I am making progress. The chickens will help me with that, too.

I clean when I'm angry! I figure hey, I'm already wound, might as well put it to some good use!

Meghan, If you have read some of my Prev. posts I mention wanting to go "off grid" too. Have you thought about canning? I have been messing around with both the conventional water bath method as well as Pressure canning. Pressure canning will allow you to can more of a variety like stews, chilies, soups, and spaghetti sauce and the like. Basically your meat based things. Pressure canning is the only FDA approved method for the meat based stuff because of the higher temp it achieves..abt 240 Deg Vs the standard 212.deg. Just a thought.

I am the typical outdoors girl. I love hiking, fishing, hunting and camping(real camping) I lived in Colorado for a time and I would go up in the mountians, no modern conveniences, no running water. That just brings you back to nature. It is my mecca I guess. Brings me back to find my center being out in nature. When I am not off in the wilderness, I have a huge vegetable garden and tons of flower beds. As a creative outlet I do pottery and flower design. I am designing my first wedding in a few weeks and doing all the flower arrangements. Plus I volunteer at an dog resuce/animal adoption service.

I live with my elderly parents and am taking care of the house I grew up in. They are not completely dependent but slowing down alot. I figure I owe them having them put up with me for 39 years plus with me being the only single one of my siblings it was a natual fit.

I wish I had more time in the day. Never seems to be enough though to do all I need to do. Tonight I hope to finish the fencing in the run for the chickens. So yippee!!! one more thing to cross off the list....LOL. With my fulltime plus job and my responsibilities at home its alot. Not sure what I would do if I did have kids....yikes....

I'm so glad to see christians on here. I accepted Christ into my heart when I was nine. I strayed for a while (between 24 and 30) I'm almost 33 now. It was and still is lonely for me because none of my close friends are christians. As a matter of fact one of my friends is completely against God and gets grumpy if I mention my beliefs to her. I told her I won't push it with her but I pray that one day she'll see that God has a great plan for her and wants nothing more than her faithfulness and praise. My husband hasn't accepted Christ into his heart yet but he goes to church with me and the kids so I pray that his heart will someday soften to God's whispers. I have a feeling it's going to take some "shouting" from God to get his attention. I told him that I don't want to nag him because this is something he has to do of his own free will. But I did mention that I worry sometimes because I don't want him to wait too long because I would feel better knowing that my loved ones are going to the same place I'm going when we die or when Christ comes back for us. I homeschool my children and use Christian based curriculum. As for my hobbies: I race my husband's stock car sometimes, but I enjoy watching him race much more. Being part of his pit crew is fun too. I've learned so much while helping him replace engines and transmissions. I've also helped him bleed the brakes on various vehicles countless times. He had to work overtime replacing the engine at work one night, I dropped the kids off at a friend's house and surprised him by showing up in one of his uniforms (very baggy on me and hilarious) and dinner. We worked together for a few hours and got it done if half the time! That was fun. I work from home as the Wisconsin branch manager for our surrogacy center. This is a very rewarding job! I help couples by matching them up with potential surrogates and/or egg donors. I cry tears of joy everytime one of the surrogates get a positive pregnancy test and then later give birth!! I love to scrapbook as well but don't have much time for that. I also make home made cards for friends and relatives that are scrapbook style.

Man I got a lot of posts took forever to read them all. Anyway Wendy I have 3 kids. My duaghter is 8 and I have 2 boys ages 4, and 1. I home school my duaghter and plan to do the same with my boys. I tuaght my duaghter how to do my hobbies and we enjoy doing them together. Middle 4 yr old likes to hang out with his dad, Trying to be a man and fix and build things with the other guys. THen my 1 year old is pretty easy he plays in the floor , or sits and watches us. He is content as long as his daddy or I are in is view. I admitt home schooling is a lot of work. And I started it after my daughter was in second grade and was learning things that only adults should know about. And then she wasnt learning anything she was supposed to, we spent from the time she got home until bed time teaching her and helping her with her home work. Her teachers at school wanted to put her in special Ed. and told me she was a slow learner. So I home schooled her through her thrid grade year and she tested out at a 5th grade level for next year. Sending her to public school was like sending her to a very bad day care. She went there and played, and hopefully didnt learn anymore than I heard about. Then she came home and I did all the teaching. It was a huge waste of her time being there. And when I put in the intent to home school her with the school her teachers flipped out. They told me that I wasnt qualified to teach her, and she wouldnt get have friends. One even told me that I would make her stupid!! Anyway we lived through the first year and she is a lot smarter now then if I would have let her stay in public school. And she even has more true friends now than she did going to school. She spends less time doing "school" work. And more time doing hobbies she likes.
