Kyla has a very difficult time with food. Her breeder recommended raw diet, which is very expensive, but we gave it a try. Kyla loved it, but always had the runs, so I started putting her on expensive, meat based, no additives type dry foods, but she wouldn't eat those as well and still had the runs and would vomit frequently. For over a year, we tried just about every food out there to try to find one that 1) she would eat and 2) wouldn't make her sick. I researched each one heavily, believing all of the hype about no gluten, no corn, no meat byproduct, etc, etc.
I finally gave up and one day bought a big ol' bag of Iams large breed formula simply because it was there and it was cheaper than everything we'd been trying and if she couldn't eat the "healthy" stuff it really didn't matter what was in it. (Not that I'm saying that Iams isn't healthy, nor am I trying to start the "healthy" dog food debate).
She eats it and it doesn't make her sick. She's now a happy, healthy dog and I happily feed her Iams.
On a side note, the cats are happier on the Sam's Club branded cat chow than they've ever been on any expensive cat food. I love it that my pets have cheap tastes like mine!! <3
