This thread has me all sorts of confused I keep thinking they're all male but no way the hatchery made that big if a mistake.

I'm sorry but I think they sent you a bunch of cockerels. Those combs and wattles are huge and red compared to my 16 weeks old australorps. And australorps are a breed that develop a little early.

I chatted with them and they said absolutely do not use comb size and color to identify sex. The more accurate way to try and identify early is saddle and back feathers. They also said that isnt reliable but just for fun early identification.

I have been lurking on this thread and if a hatchery sends people half of their chicks in the wrong gender, there's no way they'd still be in business! Whatever your mystery chickens are they are beautiful.

I've noticed it happened a lot when people ordered around the time the panic buying started happening because of covid. I wonder if they weren't being thorough enough?I dont know. I guess we will just have to wait for either a crow or an egg.

That looks like a pullet. So does the easter egger behind her. Notice how she has absolutely no red. That's how I've always been able to tell. My australorps just started turning red but they're getting close to laying.

Lol. Thanks! They said the offer a 100% gender accuracy guarantee. I think the order is accurate. The only roo we ordered is the one acting like a roo. Every other one is ladlylike.
