Hi all!

This is Cinnamon. She was supposed to be a crested cream legbar, and as you can see, isn't. I got my money back but I'm curious if the experts in here would be able to take any guesses on what she is mixed with? Curious what other genes are in there in case I ever hatch her eggs.

I'm assuming since I ordered her as a CCL that atleast one parent is but also maybe the hatchery grabbed the wrong chick entirely instead of a breeding error and both parents are something else. 🤷‍♀️

Any guesses welcome!

She's clearly an Easter Egger.

I know she's an Easter Egger. That's what I said in my original post I was asking if anyone based on looking at her would be able to take guesses on what mixes made up her Easter eggerness
She's just straight Easter Egger. Easter Egger X Easter Egger.

Ameraucana based easter egger. Depending on which hatchery you got her from its possible she doesn't have any actual araucana or ameraucana ancestors (hatcheries have been selling easter eggers since before the Ameraucana breed standard was developed and finalized). Most of the time hatchery easter eggers are generation after generation of easter egger x easter egger.

Gotcha I guess my confusion with the answers is that she was supposed to be a crested cream legbar that's what I purchased. So I wasn't sure if a different rooster got to one of their crested cream legbars so I ended up with this Easter egger and was curious if the coloring/features showed anything of what the other parent might be or if they just gave me the wrong chicken entirely that was Easter Egger on Easter Egger

I'm trying to learn, can you explain how you know that and not that one parent was the crested cream legbar that they intended to hatch from and the other parent was something else? Like what features are proving that, just trying to learn how to tell this stuff

She shares zero traits with a Legbar, besides maybe the Blue Egg Gene, EEs most times have the blue egg gene.

Gotcha so because of the muffs and beard and pea comb and lack of crest are so far off a CCL, you know that theres no chance half the genes came from a CCL so she must be EExEE. that makes sense!

So they just gave me the wrong chicken entirely that was sort of the color of a CCL baby. Thank you for explaining I'm sorry I didn't understand what you meant I'm trying to learn the differences with how the traits carry down

Did you get her from TSC, or similar? If so most feed stores get their chicks from Hoover's Hatchery which commonly mislabels chicks sent to the store, or they don't label them leaving the store employees to guess the breeds. I met a TSC employee that said they've received chicks without labels on the boxes.
