I agree, I'd say he's a mix breed. He's a nice, big boy though.

I got him with a flock of 11 hens 2 roosters from a lady who no longer wanted chickens... she had randomly collected them from various people and had no idea of the breeds..

He looks like he might be a hybrid, looks just like my hens, but I assumed all of the males were culled after hatching, unless they were to be sent to a breeding farm.

Are you referring to Sex-link hybrids? Because the hens should be red with some white (like this rooster) but the roosters should be White with a few red patches on the shoulder area. Also I thought hybrids don't usually breed true so they wouldn't need to save to males for breeding.

The sex link hybrids don't breed true. The male chicks most likely go to be raised up for butcher. Some hatcheries use them for "heat packs" in small orders of chicks also.
