Sorry for the disappointment but sounds like you got yourself a good rooster if they are calm amd dont crow

The saddles on the second are not pointy. His/her tail looks like a hen tail. Maybe, just maybe there is a chance it is hen. I doubt it though. What do you mean you think it is laying eggs?

You are not dummy. If you really still are not sure you can check the keel bones. If you can fit 2 fingers it is a hen getting close to lay. However, I suspect you will find an opening where you could fit maybe 1 finger in which case it is rooster.

I like the way they crow but most dont. You might have to but I would until they dont get along...as long as you keep them together the one looks young enough you might be ok
