What breed is my hen?

That's a male. I have a female version. Males have the shiny feathers, females don't.

But she lays eggs! Maybe she's a mix breed or something but she definitely lays eggs and does not crow and our roo mates with her

Some roosters will sit on an egg sometimes
And no he is jumping in his back because he is being put in his place and that is the same reason he doesn't crow! The point is he has male Pacific saddle feathers and that means it is a Cockerel! Only males have them!

If somebody wants to prove their point, just seperate the "hen" and see if it lays eggs.

When I first got her I quarantined her to make sure she was healthy and she layed eggs, so that's how I know that she's a hen

Can we see a pic of the black Cochin you have? I had black and buff bantam Cochins. My blacks were boys and I only ended up with the Buff being female.
