What breed is she? Buff orpington?

I rescued her yesterday so she's in quarantine. Super sweet girl. A year old.

It's possible she's a pet quality buff Orpington. Less likely but also a possibility is her being a mix

Looks like a hatchery quality Buff Orpington to me. White legs/skin/beak and generally buff coloration with single comb.

I think it's a buff Orpington mixed with Rhode Island red or New Hampshire. Doesn't look like even a hatchery BO to me.

In the last pic I see a partial beard/muffs I think.

That is what I am thinking too: small muffs on the sides of the face.

If she originally came from a hatchery, she might be an Easter Egger.
Otherwise, she's probably a backyard mix of some sort (maybe Buff Orpington x something with muff/beard.)

Since she is a rescue, we will probably never know whether she came from a hatchery or whether she is a backyard mix.

When she lays an egg:
If it is green or blue, she is definitely an Easter Egger (because an Easter Egger is any chicken that lays blue or green eggs and does not belong to a specific pure breed.)

If she lays brown or white eggs, she is probably a backyard mix of some sort (brown eggs are much more likely than white from a mixed-breed hen with that general body shape.)

I think a cross, like Jed mentioned.
She has a black tail, which is not a trait of a pure buff, if im not mistaken.
