What breed is top in your pecking order?

My Light Brahma hen is at or near the top. She's also the largest bird in the flock. She is one of my original chickens, and is around 5 years old.

I have a small flock of 10; 1 cochin bantam roo, and 9 ladies (seramas, cochins, langshans). The smallest and meanest serama is top dog in my flock, and a few of the younger langshan pullets seem to be at the bottom. So bizarre!

It is a bit odd that a hen is at the top rather than the rooster, but it makes sense that the younger birds are at the bottom.

Pretty sure my Barred rock Dotty is top, but Hollis seems like top sometimes..

how do you know for sure?
For me, The leghorns make known that they are the leaders, pecking and anyone in the way, and sometimes getting into quarrels. You can tell if they are leader if the others tend to follow the bird around and if others avoid getting picked on around the leader chicken.
