What breed of bird should I get for show next year?

Pics
Have you considered attending a local show and looking at the birds. Once you make your decision try to get birds from a successful breeder/show person rather than from a hatchery. Quality birds cost more initially, but cost no more to feed than hatchery quality. Good luck in your decision and showing.

It's a flat board, in the corner, a foot up, in a nice, secure location. There is bedding on it. A confused pullet tried to lay eggs on it. It is a nice silkie roost, and it took me an afternoon. They have to jump over two feet to get into the nesting boxes. Why bother?!!
Silkies will lay where they like. One of mine laid an egg by the waterer a couple times, wasn't a big deal since she also uses the nesting box.

The pullet in question was a mutt, and had no relation to silkies. I showed her the nesting box, and now she lays in the box on the end. I just meant the anecdote as evidence of how well-bedded, large a roost it is.

I love my Buff Orpington's but they are pretty big. :)
BEN: He's good for show,
