What breed of rooster?

Hey y'all!

Someone near me is offering two roosters for free. Specifically, I am wanting a Rhode Island Red Roo for breeding purposes.

She doesn't know what the breeds are. Looked at pictures online, and it would seem as if a RR rooster can have a few different looks. I would think the darker one is a RR, but some pictures would say the lighter brown one is too.

What are these?:

Neither are RIRs. The first looks like a chantecler, he has a walnut/cushion comb. The second one appears to be a New Hampshire red.

I absolutely agree. The first bird doesn't even look red in my opinion. On a side note, as someone who has raised Rose Comb RIRs, it is definitely not one, they are very hard to acquire and look very different from the bird pictured. I know this thread is a few weeks old, but I included pics of my RC RIR rooster for future reference. Note: they should have more of a "brick" body type than he exhibits, but still it helps to get some pics out here

I have to add, I'd love to have that buckeye... or a flock of them. They're the first and only breed developed by a woman in the United States!

Rose comb RIR are hard to come by if you don't search them out. It doesn't look like one to me and seems if that's what it was they would know it.
The other could be a hatchery RIR but it's awful light to even be hatchery stock. I'd guess it's more like a Production Red.

The darker one has a pea comb, look closely. its a buckeye rooster.... the second appears to be a RIR.
Buckeyes are a more mahogany color, where RIR are more red.

Fist is certainly not RIR because it has a rose comb.

That's what I thought, then I looked it up. I don't automatically believe everything I read online, so that's why I'm here. Here is a pic of a place I read online about rose combed RR's.

Could just be me, but I'm wondering if he's a Chantecler.

First rooster looks more like a Buckeye. His comb looks like modified pea to me.
Second rooster is a New Hampshire. Too light to be a RIR.
