What Breed(s) Do You Wish You Had?

I wish I could have a Bantam Buff or Blue Polish for a house chicken. I love the crests that they have! But, DH is pretty adamant about "no house chickens". I really can't get one for outside either, because our climate is usually cold and wet, which is not a good combination with those crests (if they get wet, the chicken gets frostbite). And I'd feel bad about putting a Polish in with a flock of regular chickens, because they can't see very well, they'd be low on the pecking order with the disadvantage, and I can't be trying to trim back the crest every few days (which defeats the purpose of having a big cool crest to begin with!).

So I think Polish chickens will be a pipe dream for me for a while.

I will be getting some bantam blue laced red Wyandotte towards the end of April maybe early May if you would like me to order you some. SE Wisconsin is around 6 hours from me, it’s quite the drive, but you can’t really order just a few of them
Where are you getting them from and how much?

I have four chickens in my house right now while they get some more feathers on them. Ameraucanas and Lavender Orpingtons. I can legally fit 7 chickens on my lot, hopefully 8 if I apply for and get a zoning variance (I'm a measly 39 sq ft away from that 8th chickie!)

My wish list:
Svart Hona
Swedish Bluebar (an Isbar and Svart Hona mix)
Salmon Faverolles (if only they DIDN'T have feathers on their feet!)
Fauvaucanas (maybe some exist without feathers on their feet, somewhere)
Light Brahma (again with the feathered feets ruining a perfectly perfect chicken breed!)

I also have a soft spot for Silver-Laced Wyandottes. I didn't love the ones I had as a child as much as they deserved. If I can find a breeder who focuses on good temperament, I may have to get some of them.

And if I ever live in a different home under different circumstances, a flock of female Sebastopol geese.
Why are you so against feathered legs?:)

I'd like a little tiny rooster. Like the size of a cola can. That would complete my life. I'm still burned on my last rooster though, so it may be a hot minute before I go hunting for a tiny roo. I'd like some silkies too, just because they look so cool. Maybe some tiny bantam mme fleur d'uccles? So many feathered friends to choose from. I'm limited to 6 chickens though, and I'm currently at 4. I just know I'm going to run into a tiny roo and fall in love. There is a tiny roo at the tractor store that tends the baby chicks for sale. He is the best care giver ever, such concern for his charges.

Based on my experience with a feather legged hen before, I think that putting a feather footed chicken in my climate/area is unfair. My feather footed hen sometimes had her feet feathers freeze in the winter, and then her feet would be covered in ice for days. It snows in my area now, but worse is that it's very rainy here, even in winter. I could easily get over the idea of poopy/muddy feet, but I don't want to deal with the frozen foot feathers again. And especially not frozen mud feathers.
