What breed to get???

I've never have any of those breeds. But, I am wanting to get Marans and Sussex in the spring.

I Think if i get the Sussex I will get speckled

My absolute favorite current chicken is my Specked Sussex. She is sweet, curious, not flighty at all, and very friendly.

I like the speckled color. Light, and coronation are real pretty too!

I voted for Marans, Sussex, and Lavender Orpington.
And I would chose either French Black Copper Marans or French white Marans.

But that's just me.

Brahmas are poor layers.and take forever to even start laying. I had a maran she was skittish so I sold her and the lav orp i had was aggressive so i ate it lol never had a dom but id choose that as I hate single combs lol

My 2 brahmas i have had all started laying at 7 or 8 months, and my first one layed good everyday till winter. My second one lays 4 eggs every week or 2 , and im not sure how many she is laying because its winter.

I wouldn't get a Sussex. They're known for crop problems.

Those are all amazing breeds you should do some research about all of them and see which one will fit your needs best. (Or get all of them which is what I would do lol)
