What breed...what IS IT?? Chicken, guinea, turkey, peacock...(Pic's)

Just throwing in my 2 cents - I think it looks like a poult (baby turkey) with those HEAVY brows... Any takers?

Found a pic on Feathersite, you can see they have small comb-like growths plus the heavy brows:

i thought it looked too small to be peafowl, they are usually larger, larger bird, larger chick. but its head does look peacockish, and i didnt thinl it looked like a guinea, so maybe you have some weird genetic mutant. its a cute little ugly genetic mutant though. a mutant of what though............i wonder.

It looks to have a comb of some sort. Look at picture # 3 and 5 does that look like a "poof" starting on the head?
If so and with the Blue/ Slate legs it could be one of Ideal's Bantam "Polish".. Not at all a good example but if that is a poof on the head it might be one..

if its bantam sized, it cant be a turkey. turkeys have long gangley legs and are bigger than a standard chick. but now that you mention it, it does have that turkey look . this is TOOO MUCH! I LOVE IT!

It is not a Turken - Turkens look clearly like chickens (because they are. . .

) with naked necks, and a sort of patch of fuzz on their heads. This chick has a very body sort of complection on its head which stumps me as well. I know I have seen an identical looking chick somewhere, but cannot name it right now.

It almost looked like some of the peacock pictures I've seen but I'm still just lost...lol

Illia, it was sent with our assorted bantams from Ideal...not sure if it was a peanut, mistake or what...
It's got the fuzz on it's neck it's just the head that is odd, and it has a slight V rise toward the front of it's scull...just odd

If it was sent in a assorted bantams package, I would bet it is a bantam. ( even if sent as a packing peanut )

Not necessarily. I ordered their bantam assortment and my packing peanuts were red broilers, not bantams.

That is one weird looking chick is all I can say.

Im thinking peachick, or turkey if turkey most like midget white because of the leg shortness.Maybe you have a peachickaturkaroo:eek:.But anyway I think its cute.Keep us posted on it. DG

lol It's already spoiled it that tells ya anything!!

Went out for evening feeding and had a baby goat layin on ground...it's a lil' buckling and now in the house. Bless his heart he's a premie with his lil' eyes not completely open..just a lil' bit more before they are all the way open and his lil' hooves are not fully formed yet..

It looks like one of the chicks I hatched, they were a chicken/guinea cross. DON'T ask me how that happened. I wish I still had the pics of him. However he died within the first month of life. Good luck with it!!

Thank you!! It seems to be thriving very well. It gets in there and drinks, eats and loves to run with food in it's mouth so the others will chase it lol
