Okay, I'm a newbie that was very frustrated not getting an answer to a few of my questions so I'll give you my perspective. #1 I joined a community and I wanted to jump right in and make friends with other chicken owners so yes, please engage me and don't let me feel like the new geeky kids over in the corner. (I'm 44 btw, not a teen.) #2 The question I had was about bedding for my coop floor (I won't go in to all the details). Oh boy, I read and read and read some more and I was SO confused! There are posts about bedding that goes back to 2009 and things do change and get better so I was looking for possible new insight. Plus, I just wanted someone, ANYONE to look at my coop and tell me everything is okay! #3 I agree people ask silly simple questions that can easily be found on here but when you're new the site can be a bit overwhelming and you just want a live person. Know what I mean? When newbies first post these questions a gentle nudge with a link to direct them would be great! I love how you guys take the time to welcome everyone, it's really nice! But after the welcome pay a little attention to them before they are left on their own. I have to say my state thread for Washington has been a great community and helped me feel very welcome and a part of the community.
