What color is my Araucana bantam?

I think Jimmy is a great name, but then again I have a hen named John (after John Coffey from The Green Mile, since she was 3x the size of the other chicks her age and gentle as could be!).

YEAH!

I don't think she's a maran, I don't have any marans! ( But, I wouldn't mind having some,though! lol ) So I look behind her ear???

Well I'm thinking about putting her in with my chicks cause they have a light in there so she might lay! I don't know what color of egg she hatched from?

But, I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed for a Ameracana and a hen!

No- I think she's a marans crossed with an ameracauna. She gets the feathered legs from the marans, and the beard from the ameracauna. If that's what she is- she has the dark brown and blue egg genes, and should lay olive color eggs. There is a thread on olive-eggers in the genetics forum. : https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=131131&p=1

edt to remove the wrong quote

It's definately " NOT " an Ameraucana or Araucana , " might " be an EE . What I mistook as very thick shanks in an earlier pic are feathered shanks

. The last pic is much better than the others . My brain just went dead , but there is a bantam breed that could have passed on the beard and feathered legs to your pullet ; whatever , its obviously a mixed breed and NOT an Ameraucana or Araucana . [ Still a pretty girl though ]

Did the egg she hatched from come from your own chickens? Do you own pure ameraucanas (black, blue, wheaton, etc) or do you have easter eggers that the hatcheries sell as araucanas/ameraucanas/americanas? You can't get a true ameraucana without breeding an ameraucana hen with an ameraucana rooster (purebred ameraucanas do not have green or yellow legs and are not sold in hatcheries). Yours is definitely an easter egger - the legs & feet are the proof. The easter eggers are what I have and I love em - pretty, great personalities, and colorful eggs.

Yes, she was hatched from my chickens, I have to idea what chicken she came from?

But, I don't know how she could be half maran??? Well I have 2 Ameracana standard roos that I bought from a guy as chicks. I guess he might of had a maran or something?
Yes, Julia is my BABY! She is the SWEETEST little thing ever, though! Oh, and thanks about the comment about J.T. she has her own personality! I'll try and post a story about her! Thanks for all the posts!

If her earlobe is "green," (turquoise?) I think she is a silkie cross. That would account for the feathered legs & beard/muffs. Silkies often carry the peacomb gene (it's part of the genotype for a true walnut comb). I have had silkie crosses that have a similar appearance. However, I see red in the earlobe area.

She is a dark blue, not a black.

Well, it's rain/snowing right now, so it isn't the best time to go and look! But, when I feed this afternoon I'll look'n see! Okey, dark blue, not black AWSOME! I'm still taking names... Anyone?
