What Coop Camera Do You Have?

Just to be sure - and I only say this because it can be easily missed - this isn't a range extender that sends the wifi signal over the air, this puts the signal on your physical electrical wires in the ground that are carrying the power out to your coop. Now, that being said, you are a good distance with the couple of acres, and this technology will be affected by other outlets that might be on that same circuit etc. In my case, completely by luck, I have a single circuit in the garage where I put the signal on, and then another single circuit in the shop where I take it off the power wire. That probably gives me the maximum strength possible. Anyway, don't mean to imply at all that you weren't following the technology, just purely making sure that you knew I was referring to something that used physical power wires between two points, and not a basic range extender that would go over the air. Regardless of the technology, I can see how you have a challenge with that great of a distance. You're definitely dealing with a non-trivial setup there. Unfortunately, it might take specialized tech that costs much more than the $35 Wyze camera that gets hooked up! :D

I tried one of those but the coops were still too far away to pick up the signal. There is probably a couple of acres between the house and the barn and coops.

if there is a transformer between the two power sources, these will never work. A good indication is it they are on two separate power meters.
you might look into something like this; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XH4Z9SK/?tag=backy-20
this is a wireless bridge that has about a 13km range. if you need more range, look at their Air Fiber line.

The barn and garage are on the same meter but have separate panels. We dug a trench and put the power underground from the garage to the barn.

Great post I’m bookmarking. I don’t currently have power or WiFi in my coop & I worried a game cam would go through batteries like crazy bc it would constantly sense movement.
Do you have to bury an Ethernet cable?

I'm curious too. I would have to get a few hundred feet long one. You can set the game cameras on timers for when you want them to go on and a time for them to turn off, motion sensing when they are on. When I put the cameras in my coops I did set the timer because of that reason. My birds did wander into the coop now and then but I didn't get anything at night while they are roosting. The camera didn't go on which I guess is good to know that nothing was in the coop at night. I didn't see a mouse or rat even.

I use rechargeable batteries in my cameras. I use my cameras in the video mode which does use more power but in the photo mode it takes much less power and the batteries last a lot longer.

I got the Wyze Cams this morning , I got one Pan/Tilt camera for inside the coop and one standard 1080p for the run . I have the Pan/Tilt hooked up in the coop , works great , I can see the whole coop with the pan tilt option , the picture is great , setup was fast and easy . Here's a picture from that Wyze Pan/Tilt cam in the coop .

My daughter also downloaded the APP on her phone and I sent her permission to access the coop cam through the APP and it works just fine on her phone . For a $35 camera I am impressed . I'll get the run cam installed tomorrow .

Here's a short video of the little ones

I’m sorry if you already said but does the Wyze run on wifi?
