What did you do in the garden today?

managed to dig up and divide 24 ditch lily today before the storms came. I also managed all the replacement honeyberries that Michigan sent out toot sweet. OMG the size and quality they sent this time is amazing! The original order were barely sticks with half dead (now dead) leaves on them. These were 18 inches tall and nice and leafy! Crossing fingers.

I also mowed down a ton of mystery saplings in the cattle pasture. There I found a wild pea plant, toxic to livestock, but fine for the ditch. I dug it up, divided it, and transplanted that too.

Picking up my box of bees in the morning. Then I hope to find a break in the weather to plant the ditch lilies and maybe some garden plants. MAYBE.

Good morning gardeners. I finished getting everything but the squash planted yesterday. The poblanos and jalapenos are in the front yard in pots. That's where I had them last year and they did really well. The basil is in the two beds with tomato plants. I picked up some marigolds and planted them as well as another flower (not sure what it is but it's pretty) and put that in a hanging pot by the garage. The herb gardens are still looking good. No signs of transplant shock. I had hoped to mow the front yard today but now the weather folks are talking showers. Seriously! I need to get working on pruning the fruit trees and overgrown shrubs. I'm making sourdough bread today so whatever I end up tackling will be carefully timed between risings and baking. Hello @Acre4Me, do you have any straw bales you could use to block the wind a bit? Just a thought. Happy gardening!

No straw bales right now, but wind in the 20-25mph range with gusts to 45mph. My plants are smaller/shorter right now, so am hoping they will be OK. Winds will die down before nightfall to around 12-14mph.

Good idea for the straw bales though as they will block wind, and I need to get some to use as mulch in the garden then off to the compost pile once the growing season ends.
