What did you do in the garden today?

Something (probably deer) is eating the lower limbs of my apple trees. Grr.

My peach trees are looking good, and one has several peaches.

The pear trees are also getting big and pears are on one.

The ditch is a drainage ditch between our property and the country road. The county owns the ditch, but we have to keep it mowed. Only one side is able to be mowed. The side visible from the road is too steep for me to mow, too steep for the county to mow, so it is now registered as part of our state pollinator habitat that we maintain. I had planted poppies, sedum, iris, lilies, all kinds of milkweed, and natural prairie flowers. I get them on clearance or when friends split their root balls and rhizomes.

Here too. Farmers racing into the night to beat the next round of rain. 4 inches in the next 4 days. Wet winter, wet flooding spring, and it continues. Only 50 degrees today.

I lost about 200 new bees last night. They refused to leave the package and got too cold last night outside when we dropped to 38. I still have 1200 and they'll make more. The rest were fine when I checked on them.

Nothing in the garden yet, but berry bushes.
