What did you do in the garden today?

Yesterday we finally got the newly painted racks on my truck, then boxes. Those racks are originally from DH's uncle from 1960's or 70's. They have been altered a few times- originally from a Chevy to a Ford now this Toyota. The original reuse/reduce/recycle before it was cool. Anywho, I said I would post photos of truck when pau, so here they are, b4 it get scratched or pooped on...

It's just very sad looking. She was likely somebody's pet that they just dumped.
Actually it was her mom that was dumped a year +++ back. My DH and I tried to coax them with food and I did feed for awhile till they disappeared from old spot. This little one had a brother or sister that is most likely dead and her mom is also pregnant. She looks surprisingly good now probably from eating all of the chickens :hmm We have lots of hunting dogs that get separated and end up in this situation or worse. Where the owners are usually very fond of their dogs, the dogs are not socialized and can be very shy of other people and run deeper into the forest and fields to starve or die of thirst in the summers. KHS can get overwhelmed especially after holidays with fireworks and could use more county support for sure.

I have been doing this before the term was invented :thumbsup
I also like to RE-PURPOSE,, My chicken coop was a Lil Tykes playhouse in a previews lifetime.

Great job, I love it!!! Your girls are beautiful 😍 I saw a dog house on craigslist and was thinking hard on that for a nest box. I have to have open coops. My mom had the R/R/R habit and passed it onto me as uncool as I thought it was 45 years ago, but of course in my teens I thought everything my mom did was uncool. Poor mom. I am grateful today and my 34 yo daughter thinks grandma and I are pretty cool for all of our efforts ;). lol

That’s really sad. As for your truck, it looks awesome.

Well, the super nice HS gal couldn't get the cage out through the solar panels because it was so tight. So, she had to take the dog out of the cage... She had him on a choke I think, but the dog bit her and got away. She called me to say sorry but there was no need. I feel so bad she got bit . I feel pretty bad the dog is free to cause trouble again too!! No problems solved and most likely will be that much harder to trap her again. :barnie

Thanks about the truck. It was a long and fairly expensive process. I'm glad it is off my list because I was kind of stressing on a few things like $$ and color. Anywho, should last us another 20++ years if we need so $$ well spent. Beats buying new.
