Good morning gardeners. Got my trash barrel from the backyard dumped into the big barrel at the curb before the truck showed up. Now I’m waiting for the sun so I can get started on chores. Hubs is working a few hours today, then this afternoon we’re headed to Home Depot for a few things to beef up the mini coop so the ducks can move in sooner rather than later. Hubs surprised me for our anniversary with four Egyptian Fayoumi pullets! They won’t arrive until April so I hope that’s long enough to get rid of whatever it was that went through my last flock. It’ll be more than six months since chickens or pigeons have been here. I’m going to sanitize the coop again, remove all the litter and keep it empty until they get here. I’d been talking about trying this breed for their heat hardiness and disease resistance, particularly to Marek’s. I wanted to breed them with bantam Turkens initially but no breeding or hatching for me for a while. I’m excited to give them a try! I was going to wait until next year but hubs says every time I look at the chicks in the bins at the feed stores he can tell I miss my chickens. Love that guy! Have a great day everyone!
