What did you do in the garden today?

Looks like we'll be burying conduit in the garden space this evening. Trying to get proper internet set up, and since we're out in the county the tech said dig a trench and we'll run from a to b in some conduit. The ground is wet, so much easier to dig right now.

Tech had "coke fingernails" and no teeth, but was super nice and chill. Go figure. Ah well, somehow I always get to deal with the chill ones. Extremely lucky I think.

Afternoon Gardeners. My allergies gave me eyes watering all day head plugged .. Been miserable with them. Nothing outside too hot

I just got over a bad summer cold. No allergies, but head plugged, coughing, ear ache and sore throat, etc... Lasted just over a week, but feeling much better for the last few days. Hope you feel better soon.

Started to let up some but thank you

I worked with people with drug addictions for a number of years. It is amazing how good people can be brought down so low by illegal drugs. It seems to be very rare that a person can escape that life, but I still hope for the best for everyone. From my point of view, where I used to work, most people with drug addictions don't get the help they need to reboot their lives drug free. Mostly, they are locked up for a short time to clean up, and then sent right back to the same life they came from with all the drugs.

I don't know what the current statistics are, but when I worked, our charts said about 97% of the people with drug addictions would be back. I personally never saw anyone get and stay drug free. The only people I hear that do manage to leave the drugs behind, are those that completely change their lives, where they live, and dump all their old "friends" from their drug days. Not too many people can do that. So I appreciate hearing stories of those who are successful.

That's not quite true. You can get drugs in jail, just as easy, sometimes easier than on the street. They may not have 'cleaned up'

Also, they do NOT go back to the same life they had. They now have a conviction on their record, many times it's a felony. Good luck getting a decent job with THAT. At least before the drug bust, they may have had a clean record and could get a good job IF they wanted.

Even if they did want to clean up, society has essentially told them with this, $^@ U. THIS is your crappy life, but you better fix it, but we won't help.

If we as a society truly want to help people, then we need to quit with the stigmatism of a conviction. I see you had a drug conviction? Yes I did, are you clean, yes I am, do you plan on staying clean? yes I do. good, do you want the job? YES>>> I DO. great, you start monday.

If a person makes a mistake, make them pay for it, but once they paid their debt to society, it's DONE, you need to now accept them BACK into society and not hold that mistake against them forever. There are exceptions of course but in general, we really need to get off our high horses and get over ourselves.

Just my two eggs worth.

I've been trying not to post anything publicly because I don't want to lose my job... But I can tell you 100% for certain that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was a bioweapon. There is intelligence data that the pandemic was planned and part of a psyop. I, personally, do not trust the vaccine and will not get it....although I don't fault others who do. I have worked with the intelligence community and with government for a very long time. I have never seen anything quite like this before.... This is like sleeper cells on steroids. No one trusts anyone anymore. I have seen so many agents retiring right and left because of the shady things happening behind the scenes. Same with law enforcement.

Anyway, I can't imagine being stuck on an island and being in lockdown. Especially for something that is nothing but a fantastic lie. My thoughts, prayers, and concerns go out to you.....
Agree with all of this.

I worked in a hospital. Our patients typically were sent to our hospital by a judge, not because they wanted treatment. Patients left cleaned up, but were mostly sent right back to their previous life. Nothing really changed for them except they spent a few weeks in a locked hospital.

It was very seldom that any illegal drugs ever made it on our ward, I can assure you that. Maybe twice in the 5 years I was there. And when it did happen, we knew almost immediately and were able to confiscate the contraband within hours, if not minutes. We took great pride in keeping our facility clean of illegal drugs for the health and safety or our patients.

I don't have any experience with jails or prisons. My comments were only related to my experience in the hospital. The doctors and nurses I worked with were top rate, but it does eventually come down to the individual person to change their life. It was heartbreaking for me to see our patients released back to the exact same living situation where they were using drugs and getting into trouble. I think it would be very hard to change your life if you are sent right back to where you were before your hospital stay.

Sorry if off topic in the gardening forum. Lots of topics seem to get discussed here for short periods of time. Will return to gardening topics in my next post.
