What did you do in the garden today?

Need to catch up on 2 pages, but wanted to share between work meetings that we have pumpkins from LAST YEAR that are still perfectly good. These two I just cut open. We will be filling them with a savory ground venison stew or chili and baking them until tender. That's dinner, from last year! Lol.
What variety ? That is a long time in storage . I know Dickinson can last until spring . Moschata group .

Last year we planted a squash and gourde variety pack of seeds. I honestly do not know exactly what type they are. I am going to keep some of the seeds and see if the grow next year. I risk them not being heirloom and possibly cross-pollinated. Worst case, I'll fed some mystery gourds to the chickens and ducks. We got mystery gourdes or squash last year that tasty bland and pulpy after some seeds took hold that didn't die off in the compost pile. We didn't find them tasteful, but the birds love them. Still have a few of those in the pantry too actually. We cut one in half from time to time and toss it to the chickens and ducks.

What's a watermelon bin?
This:

it’s 4x3 dimension & they store the watermelons in them. :) Read about it somewhere on here in one of the 100s of threads I read thru!

Fascinating! I did not know that and will be super helpful!

Yeah - garden is "organic". Bugs have been taken care of thus far by handpicking (and soap on squash).
I have more trust in the bugs from my garden than buying them from pet store...
Soap on squash? Is that for vine borer? I’m petrified mine will be destroyed again this year, I’m stalking the stems daily.
