@WthrLady Yep, I'll be running along with you, with my Instant Pot!

I love cooking in that thing, it's awesome! The only issues I have with it are the tendency to burn on tomato based, lower moisture recipes. Had a doozy of a time making curry lentil soup the other night because of that. I wouldn't can in it though. I'd much prefer to do my canning outside on a gas camp stove or some such at this point. It's so dang hot I'm not trying to overheat the whole rv right now.

Moved all the plants around yesterday, twice, so DH could roll the RV back a few more feet. Makes all the necessary maintenance on the tanks way easier for him. The strawberries are struggling with the heat, think I've lost one of them.

Garden update:
Here is a view of the 20x30 bed (its not all in the pic). The pumpkins are moving into the empty space (previously occupied by the failed Lentil experiment), but so are the musk melons... this should get interesting!

3 baby watermelons in another bed.

This is some kind of Burpee bush like hybrid similar to a butternut squash. I always firnd it interesting that the plant will begin a female flower, but its already yellow, so it will fall off no matter if it were to get pollinated or not (see tiny yellow on to the left)

We planted a white pumpkin "Casper". Will be interesting to see what we end up with.

Several grasshoppers, two are blending in quite well.

Soybeans for edamame

cucumbers are finally beginning to develop.

Beets are looking good so far.

Quite a few tomatillos developing

The largest tomatoes we are waiting to ripen!

The San Marzano are looking quite productive.

The Okra is being overtaken by the pumpkin!

ME TOO!! If I can find it local or close to it, I’d rather give my money to the local economy. Recently I was in the market for an item, which I could buy from a licensed dealer or online. I researched this category online and narrowed my choices down to a particular few within same brand/make. Then found where the dealers were within driving distance. I called 3 of them, and one was the best deal and had been a dealer of this make for 40 years. So, I drove to get it from that dealer. The other reason I did this was because it is an item that is packed well from the factory, but gets put onto a pallet to go to dealer or distributor. If I were to buy online then my individual item gets shipped and possibly thrown, dropped, punted…etc en route to me. I’d rather get it off the pallet and place it in my car to drive it home


Another reason I always price check. Amazon is often not the best price.


But, then again, we have found this to be true too. Multi packs of boring, but necessary items are easier to find for good price on Amazon. Not always, but always worth a check.

I used Amazon to find what I need, it's easier, but then I will try to see if I can get those stuffs from local.

I have to wait to pick veggies as the walkways are under water again. My shallots have had enough and I think are dead due to too much water. Fortunately that seems to be the only casualty so far.

I can see a bunch of full size green & purple beans just aching to get picked but there’s 2 inches of water to walk thru to get to them!

First 8ball zucchini is growing along with a yellow squash, so those should be ready to pick by Wednesday. Would love to take pics for you guys, as soon as I can safely walk through there! I’m dying for more Swiss chard, it’s full & calling my name!

Again there is a level 3 heavy rain warning in the region I lived, it said from tomorrow to Thursday morning it will accumulate up to 200L/sqm, in between there might be very intensive rain Hopefully everything will be ok then...

I went out to check the rain gauge to see what we got while I was gone, it goes up to 5 inches but it was overflowing so I have no idea how much we actually got, just that it was more than 5 inches!

We got around 4 inches of rain just from Elsa @Sueby. We’re up to 3 inches just since midnight today. They mentioned on the morning news that we’ve had a summers worth of rain within the last 30 days. Thank goodness for sump pumps.

The first ones succumbed to wilt pretty quickly, before flowering. So, I planted seeds.
