I have one Cherokee Purple in the garden, it gave us our first 2 tomatoes of the season, one of which was the largest tomato I've ever harvested. This was about 2 weeks ago when I pulled the 2 off the vine. I have not gotten anymore ripe fruit since then but it still has plenty of inripe fruit. The 2 I've gotten so far have both been large, very sweet and not many seeds. The scale said this one was 1 lb 3.6 oz!

My golden variety has been giving me about 2-3 tomatoes every 2 days for the last week. Yesterday's haul is below, the okra is really starting to take off. We got a monsoon like rain yesterday evening and it poured overnight/this morning. I need to get outside as soon as possible to re-tie some supports. I have okra, tomatoes, and peppers falling over from the amount of rain that has hit them the last 48 hrs.

We have another week forecast for high 80F's and low 90F's with no rain. For us, thats very hot and dry. I have a small creek running through my property that is usually about 1 foot high this time of year. This year, the creek is now bone dry. My lake front is the lowest water level I have seen in 30+ years I have lived here. There is an extra 15 feet of shoreline down by the dock. Water got so low this year that the front end of the pontoon was sitting on sand. First I had to pull the motor up into storage position, but then just took the pontoon out of the water altogether.
And yet, there are a number of people reporting too much rain this year.... Not me.
Well, no rain in the forecast, but as I write this response, dark clouds have filled the sky and there are a few rain drops falling right now. Looks like we might get some rainfall today... Just heard some thunder, so better post before we lose electricity...
