What did you do in the garden today?

OMG thank you for this! I have some growing here & had no idea what it was. DH always weed whacks it. :he

I think I'm about to lose another chicken. Grrr. She's having laying issues. I gave her calcium last night & left her at dark in the nest box, she looks the same today. Got another calcium in her. I will NEVER get RSL chickens again - I've lost 5 out of 8 so far & only 1 made it close to 3 years old before I lost her. That's no life. :(

Beef broth is still cooking, smells delish. Picked 6 yellow squash last night & had tomato tarts for dinner. I think that may have been my last brandywine - they're are more on the vine but they're small so I'm not sure they'll do anything with this cool weather.
I’m sorry you’re losing her. I too try to avoid RSL because of that. As it is, Cyndi is in her third year doing fine. It was the Welsummer I got with her that seemed to die last week of laying issues.

I will say I did go to cackle & put 3 new chicks in a cart. 😝 That's all I did, then I closed the page. Ha!
Go on a road trip. I’ll give you breeder stock that will only stop laying when they go broody 3-6 times a year.

So what I hear you saying is that there are 3 little, fluffy chicks, with big brown eyes, cute little peeps, and sad faces sitting in a digital shopping cart waiting for you to take them home and be loved. Is that right?

Picked up the 18 Cornish X yesterday. They were hatched on Wed, but could not pick up until Thursday - so, as soon as I got home, they all got a drop of vitamins, then water, then put into an open bin for a short time. In the bin was food scattered, and some water. If there is one thing that Cornish X excel at, it is eating (followed by drinking). They were ON IT! Once they were a bit less intense on eating the crumble, I boxed them back up, and transported them to the brooder. There they enjoyed the heat, but quickly popped back out to enjoy more food and water!

Every Fluffy boy cat (well, he's neutered now) needs a bow-tie collar, right? Yes, it is breakaway.

He's still being homed to his cage, but we let him out with supervision (and the doors closed) every day. He seems to be a pretty happy cat. Our other cat is still displeased with the intruder.
