What did you do in the garden today?

How do you do tomato paste? Just start with tomato sauce and keep stirring and boiling off the liquid?
Yeah, I just cooked it down in the huge stock pot I use to make plain sauce, but I was curious how far down I could get it to go. I was sure it would start scorching before getting to the paste stage and I stirred it often but it finally got thick enough to suit me. I could sort of pile it up in the pot till the bubbling leveled it out again. I used a jar yesterday for chili and while it wasn't quite as thick as the canned stuff, it was thick enough for me.

As far as dentists go, only the knowledge that I can get up and walk out any time I want to makes it possible for me to go at all. I had terrible experiences with our family dentist as a kid, my terror ramps up my system so much the novocaine doesn't last more than about 30 minutes and they can only give you so much. When I go as an adult I need valium, gas, and novocaine.

DH is still busting up pallets in the evening, at least until I go outside and chase him in to rest, lol. I need to draw up coop plans, but heck, just add that to the pile of stuff that needs doing I guess. :hmm Having a hard time keeping up.
Oh I really want to see that pile of pallet wood now! You must almost have enough to build a garage. :)
Morning Gardeners wet here today .. blue eggs other three died in shell.
Been dry here the last couple of days. Sorry about those eggs, really disappointing.

Picked some more tomatoes that have at least some color, if I leave them out the damp and cool nights are sure to wreck them. Picked what I think are probably the last of the peppers. I might try canning them, but I'll have to add a few store bought to make enough to mess with. It would be nice to have some handy to add to my servings of recipes that I leave spice out of for DP's sake.

Oh and we got the genetic results back for Penny. Her dad was pure German Shepherd dog and her mom was an American Pitbull, Staffordshire cross. No Labrador at all which really surprised me. But she's all lover, loves being brushed and rubbed and mooshed on.

They're pretty time intensive, so not as big a pile as you're envisioning for sure! Plus, some days I stop him before he can get started if he's too tired. Man doesn't know when to stop. However, I will get some pictures before we start building. Only thing we've used the wood for so far was a little shelf alongside the bed where we put DD's bassinet thingy... Like a dock-a-tot but better in my opinion. Works great!

We got a good soaking! It rained off and on, mostly gentle but substantial, for over an hour. I'm hiding in the house, it's going to be muggy as heck out there. At least I don't have to water!

Reminds me I need to go to a dentist, chipped a tooth and it's annoying me... kinda hard with the newborn though.

Does anyone here make green tomato relish? What's it like? I just saved a recipe for that and for fried green tomatoes as well. I might make green tomato relish and add hot peppers to half of the jars.
I made the relish chop them up small .. Used a recipe
from all recipes .com but used just a pinch of sugar
  • 12 ½ cups chopped green tomatoes
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 4 jalapeno peppers, sliced into 1/2-inch-thick rings
  • 4 serrano peppers, sliced into 1/2-inch-thick rings
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • ¼ cup raw sugar
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 ½ tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 6 limes, juiced, divided
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Oh? Can you link it?

Morning all! It's raining really good here today. First good rain we've had in... uh... since before DD was born! Sheesh, didn't realize it had been that long. Guess I need to start keeping track of that info.

We've been adopted by kittens... There's one outside that's a bit older and kinda belongs to the landlady. Then there's the fluffy one, white and orange and adorable, that we brought in. It's been playing with DS in the morning and evening, good timing as I'm trying to get stuff done.

I managed to go for my first mile walk since I've been released to normal activity levels now. Two days later I'm still zonked. Dang it. I was hoping to just jump back in and get my groove on. Guess I'll have to fight for my prior fitness level, which I'm going to need before spring. Two seater stroller is on the way for the littles so I can get out with them more easily. Right now pushing one and wearing the other, which kills my back after a while.
I got it at Farm and Fleet . Victor brand . A plastic jar type trap similar to some fly traps . I am sure if you google Victor yellow jacket trap it will come up .

Had one of the 4 brown eggs hatch bought a dozen at the Auction 4 made it to today one other is pipped but this one wanted out Now

Is this to be handled like the All Recipes says otherwise?

I lost one of my jars of pickled peppers, bottom fell out. :he

I should get the info for Freya in a couple weeks. I'm going to guess lab and some kind of sight hound. And other stuff too, probably.
