What did you do in the garden today?

Thank you gramakoko. Unusual heat wave going on here, but I have not seen 96 yet. It's a big state, may very well have hit 96 somewhere. Low 90's here today. The low tonight will be in the upper 60's.

Today in the garden I watered. :)

I made tomatillo salsa! Yum

Squashed some squash bug eggs -- YUCK!

And turned the organic pest control team loose in the potato bed just harvested *lol*

I harvested a really big bunch of stevia! For the second time this season!!! Haven't been able to do much, though because the boys are at the fair right now and I leave here really early and get back really late. So far, their teams are in frist place for Knowledge Bowl (4H)

Mine is a 2nd round late start :/ late freeze then a mole issue...I'm hoping I get some like yours! Good job!

I'm growing a nice batch of purple tomatillos this year...I think the hubby will freak out lol purple salsa! Lol quote name="deserthomestead" url="/t/670277/what-did-you-do-in-the-garden-today/450#post_11530959"]MotherCluckinMe, yes they're yellow pear tomatoes. My kids are REALLY uncertain about them! They think something's wrong since they're not red, lol

Picked and squashed squash bugs with some help from a big fat toad in the hay bale garden, watered everything, picked 1 1/2 lbs of stupice tomatoes (pizza for supper me thinks), ate a few currant tomatoes, shared grasshoppers with the ducks and turtles, and let the girls have a go at pest control. I guess I have mutant chickens though because they ignored the swarm of grasshoppers and ate okra leaves instead.
