What did you do in the garden today?

Dan these pics were just taken . Not all turnips produce a edible root . Seven top is for greens . Radish sometimes bolt to seed without making a edible root . It could even be a type of mustard but it does not look like the wild mustard I have here .

I haven't priced it for about 3 years. It was $8.50 then. I told them they could keep it. What about finding a local stable? Some stables use that crinkled shredded brown paper for bedding. That would be perfect, as it would have some nuggets mixed in. Most likely not enough to burn the plants. There are piles of that stuff in the compost area at my town dump. I love my dump!

We are going to go to town today and I will have to see if they have anything I can use. We don't have any hay right now. hahahaha
There are no weeds that I can find in the strawberries. I can't believe they want 9.29 for a bale of pine straw.

I've seen pine straw rolls listed on Craigslist for $10 a roll. It's not a big roll like hay, but maybe 1/2 that size or less. I guess the best thing about them is that there are no seeds.

If you see some hay bales for sale, give them a call and see if they have any hay left over from last year or the year before. If they do, you might can get that quite a bit cheaper than fresh baled hay.
