What did you do in the garden today?

I don't have a tunnel, I was thinking I might spread a sheet of plastic over them? I don't think it will reach the ground though as its 8' wide and the tomatoes are 6' tall. if I can get them to survive this freeze I can build something before the next.

We got enough to drench the soil so I'm hopeful it's enough to make things go again.
I am glad you got some rain finally. We are just north of Birmingham Alabama and we haven't seen rain for months. Not a drop. We are living in a tinderbox and fires are burning north and south of us. But we are moving into our wet season and may get some rain before Christmas.

Use the one from your bed!

Dh and I wrestled with my raised bed trying to get the plastic to stay around the sides and over the window on the top. We went out in the back 40 and gathered up some pine straw. Not an easy job with all the thorns and sticker bushes but we got enough scraped up to pack in the strawberry pool.
We are going to take my youngest daughter some fruit trees when we go down for Thanksgiving. She's excited. We are taking 2 plum, 2 crab apple and pomegranate trees.

These are the ones I bought online and we did not get them planted. I bought the crab apples off ebay from Buckeye55 and the American plum I got from Idaho University nursery and the pomegranate I bought from E-Burgess it was a buy one get one for a penny. So we are keeping on and giving her one.

I am keeping the cherry from last year and a pomegranate that I hope we can get planted after we get some rain and soften up this hard prairie soil.

Finally put squash and pumpkins in the garage before they freeze . It was 19 this morning . Canned some pumpkin yesterday . More today . I think I will can the acorn squash eventually also . DW has the habit of waiting until February to want squash . By then most have rotted . I think the squash I was gifted is a Golden Delicious . Best I ever tasted . I will grow it next year .
