What did you do in the garden today?

Ugh, I'm tired and sore. Been on my feet for hours... Harvested 20 lbs of potatoes, around 2 dozen onions, a couple green peppers, a cup or so of ground cherries, and a 15 lb pumpkin. Most of the onions were small because I didn't have them on the irrigation system so I chopped them up and froze.

I still haven't pulled out the rest of the sweet corn. Probably have more tomatoes tomorrow too....

I was going to harvest potatoes today but when I started digging into the raised potato bed all I was finding were very small potatoes. I think I found 5 that were as big as a new red potato, the rest were pea sized. So I buried them back up.
I did get 5 more bags of mulch spread on top of the cardboard. And I got 4 more T-posts set for the next arch between raised beds.
This evening I stopped at the church garden and put another T-post in there and then ran twine between the 2 T-posts to hold up the tomato plants that had fallen over. They are loaded with tomatoes! It was too dark for a picture 😞
I also saw 4 fawns! There was at least 1 momma with them, maybe 2.

Cucumbers are starting to bloom. Variety sweet success. Seedless = para whatever. So female flowers only.

I feel like I have a lot less japanese beetles this year too. I have 2 traps out & they were mobbed the first 3 days or so, but I really haven't seen too many since. They are enjoying the peach tree & 1 cucumber leaf but normally they'd be all over my beans. Maybe they're just ramping up, but I sure hope not!

Good morning gardeners. Sunny, warm and dry today. We got about 2 inches of rain out of that system that blew through here yesterday. The yard is a little squishy in spots. I took a couple of shovels full of chicken run dirt and side dressed some of the nightshades and everything in the three sisters bed. I also picked a nice selection of lettuce, young kale, baby chard, 2 baby leeks and a few mustard leaves to make a nice salad mix. I also picked the first 2 green beans and broke them up into the mix. I got the last pound of peas processed and into the freezer yesterday. Today is laundry day and I'm hoping to work on the weed whacking a little this afternoon. My jalapeno plants arrived last yesterday. They don't look all that great. I'm hoping they perk up after their hot journey from the mid west. I'll be planting all these pepper plants in containers I can bring indoors if necessary. Aside from the peppers the only thing left to plant are the cucumber seedlings. I'm not sure if I should plant them in a container or not. I may plant them where the peas were growing.
