This week has been busy. Sandplums are ripe so picking, cooking, juicing and canning the juice for making jelly this fall. We mulched the tomato and pepper beds with straw since the summer heat is coming and then started the circulating sprinkler. The cabbage are still growing nicely and we are getting cucumbers and squash. There are some nice cantaloupes under the vines. Transplanted extra okra to the bed where we dug potatoes. The pear trees and apple trees are full of ripening fruit.
Digging the garlic and collecting seed from the spring flowers before pulling the dead stems. The day lilies are gorgeous and I'm hand pollinating some for new hybrids.
Chicks are hatching in the incubator today. The younger ducks need a coop soon. The first time heifers are calving this month.
