What did you do in the garden today?

Welcome to the thread @black_dove2

Thank you!

As a part of my chickens run I found a beautiful baby changing table. I place feeder and their treat platter on table part.

There are three drawers I was planning to open staggered and add a bracket to each to lock in place. I was then going to plant something different in each of the three drawers, place a screen on top to keep girls from pulling it all out.

Any suggestions what I should use that's chicken healthy?

Grass, sunflowers, alfalfa, clover, trefoil, wheat, barley, oats, beets, kale... Lots of good options. Chickens eat all sorts of things.

Today in the garden I chopped my finger open while pruning tomatoes with a pair of scissors. I have since cleaned it up and it has a bandaid, but it bled a fair amount. I managed to get myself pretty good. Clipped those dirty scissor tips right into myself about 1/2cm deep. It's already sealed up and dried out, and I washed it good, so I'm fine, but not a great garden day so far. :p

Thanks for the info!
Ouch, good to hear bleeding stopped. I'm always cutting my hands on something. Too much of a hurry.

I like to plant cheap, untreated wild bird seed mix. A variety of plants comes up and the cats and dogs in your life will like the greens that come up as well as your chickens.

Thanks I'm sure between wild bird seed and the plants CMouse mentioned I'll have plenty of variety for them to get into.

My dogs don't really know what grass is being raised in the desert. But I know there are some plants they live to get into and eat!

What a cute idea! Will you post a photo when it's all done and planted? Would love to see what it looks like!

Oh no! I hope you were able to clean it really well, so it doesn't get infected. Ouch!

:hugsOW! Did you put antibiotic ointment on it? Heals faster.

We did that accidentally because my husband put up the clothesline to hang it on and it fell down twice, spilled seed all over.
