What did you do in the garden today?

Repotted my plumeria and vanilla orchid today. I used a 5-gallon mesh trash can for the vanilla orchid. Hoping that helps keep the soil from getting too wet. I also created my own soil mix for them... It's a mix of sphagnum moss, peat, coco coir, shredded leaves, wood chips, and a little bit of container soil.

The cocoa tree seedling is LOVING the steamy greenhouse. It's developed a ton of new leaves...

For my Ohio people
You need to put that in the "funny" threads.
Also for the Blueberry, I read they need acidic soil. Can I just add some of my duck poop compost in the bottom of the pot? It's old hay and bedding from winter.
First, get a pH test on your soil. Blueberries need 4.5-5.5. The duck poop probably won't change the pH.

There's a product from Espoma that's called "soil acidifier" (I think). I think their "berry tone" is also recommended for blueberries.

Espoma products are fine for organic gardening too. I used their "tomato tone" this year, and my plants are a very healthy green and are blooming. I'll be using this stuff from now on, probably.

92 today. Not gardening but I will share. I used a mosquito fish on 3 virgin female guppies and now I have fry. Some said impossible and some say they have done it. I realize they will be mules - sterile. I was curious. I also realize that buffalo and cattle offspring were always sterile. Yet one was not and we have beefalo. :)

Poppy pics! I sprinkled out 4 kinds of poppies and got these!

More garden photos!!! Weather whiplash over here... It was 98 yesterday and 70 today. Supposed to be 72 tomorrow then 90 on Friday. 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, we've been eating squash from the garden, picking tons of berries, and finally are getting peppers to mature! Woohoo! All of the pumpkins are starting to take off, except the carving ones... They're getting ready to, but they have been taking their sweet time.

I'm just leaving photos as attachments so the page doesn't get super long.

Except this one. Look at that baby! Khaki seed pumpkin! 😁 20240612_074556.jpg

12 quarts of dill and still didn’t use them all! Need to make 12 more quarts and sweet and then we are set for year!
I thought cutting in chunk sizes would allow more in but I’m not sure they do. 🤔 it’s a bugger getting them in wo much space
I LOVE those pickles!
Hey, I really like that cool rack for the jars, too...need one of those.
