What did you do in the garden today?

Same. I've never seen an Aldi's that was clean and didn't give me a "dumpster diving" vibe.
3 out of the 4 Aldi I have been at are very clean. The Joliet store has been in 3 different places since the 1970's . The first was the worst, have been getting better but I only went because it was close after work. Actually now I think about it I haven't been at that store in over a decade.

The dirty stores are the wallymarts. I don't shop there 😭

The place here I refuse to shop is the Asian store. We went there to look for something and as we wandered down an aisle there were leaking vehicle batteries sitting on a shelf. Oh and Food 4 Less, roaches were in the fresh produce. And people actually shop at those stores, gives me the heebie jeebies.

Canned some mixed veg pickles. This is called “Jardiniere” in the Ball canning book. Never made this before. So, will wait a week to sample some.

Carrots, cauliflower, peppers, onions, zucchini.

I used to make similar pickles, but with cucumber instead of zucchini and added some shredded cabbage as well. waiting to hear how it tastes. never tried pickled zucchini but I like the idea.

Only gardening I did was water the big garden today. I accidentally knocked a green slicing tomato off the vine earlier so I may fry that up with lunch tomorrow. I did pick a small handful of pinto beans that looked dry. Ten pods yielded almost 1/4 cup of beans. Can I let them air dry the rest of the way @Acre4Me? I checked on the summer squash and I don’t think they will produce anything else. Just a hunch. The pumpkin plants are looking good so fingers crossed I’ll get something. It’s hovering between 89 and 90F now and for the last couple of hours. We got some thunder and lightening but no rain. Wah! I was hoping to work on prepping for Fall planting tomorrow but the weather is going to be more of today’s tropical feel. I’ve been hanging outside while my old chickens are having their dirt baths. I think my pores are clean enough now so it’s time to lock up the chickens and go hug Mr. Air Conditioner.

Our Aldi's are very clean and have some of the best produce as far as taste around.
I'm sorry that your Aldi's are not as nice, they have completely revamped all of the stores or shut them down.
I can buy a whole cart of groceries for $200 at Aldi's or spend $400 at the store my son works at or $600 at the store down the street from that one.
I mostly buy in bulk my stuff at Aldi's. (Rural- we do not have Cosco, Sam's etc.) Canned goods, sugars, flour, cheeses, noodles, cooking oil, etc. People that shop there all the time know what to get or not. My mom and I make the hour-long trip a couple times a year just to go there.
