What did you do in the garden today?

I did absolutely nothing in the garden today. When I was sitting with the littles during their “free range” time my glasses kept fogging up from the humidity. Good grief. After taking care of them and cleaning the poop boards for the big chickens I was drenched. I turned the AC on at 8 am because of the humidity. We had a shower around 1 pm then back to sunny, hot and humid. I need to do some serious pruning on my over grown shrubs but my old hedge trimers wouldn’t cut it so I found a mini chainsaw on Amazon. Rechargeable batteries and is supposed to cut through six inch logs. Can’t wait to try it out.

It looks like a saws all with a chain. Lol! It’s lightweight and my regular chainsaw would be too much for the shrubs. This heat and humidity is supposed to stick around until Tuesday when I will finally be able to get back to gardening.

We don't have an Aldi's, but cart theft is a thing here. We have a very large homeless population. They use the carts to move their belongings when the city forces them to leave their camps. The city throws away everything they leave behind. It's a really depressing and frustrating situation here.
In the bigger town and city this is a big problem. One store, that has since closed in Joliet, had concrete ballards so close you couldn't get a cart through. You would have to pull up to load if it was more than you could carry. Lots of homeless there.
In the town east of me it's kids riding them down the parking lot into the ditches and putting them on the train tracks. I'm sure there's some homeless but I don't hear about them.

That’s still renting for use. Heaven forbid a teenager might have an after school/summer job.
There are usually a couple carts left by the door without a quarter in the slot, provided "free". The staff will also give you a quarter to use if you ask to make change.

Most of the people I have seen shopping at Aldi's smile and are friendly. If someone is returning a cart as another is walking up to get one they will offer the cart and say "Here you are, pass it on".

It's not the neighborhood. Across the street the Walmart is a zoo. I don't shop there.

Yes Aldi is same side of street and a strip of stores in-between them and wallymart. World of difference.

I mowed part of the backyard. The first bag of clippings went in one of the raised beds I am preparing. The second bag went in the run. I was panting like a dog from the heat and humidity, so I went inside to cool down. That's all I did in the yard today.

I'm hoping to get fall crops planted in the next week, depending on the track of a tropical storm near Cuba right now. They're predicting it coming our way later in the week.
