What did you do in the garden today?

G’morning gardeners. @Minanora I can relate to not enough storage, one wall in my office is covered in shelves where I store extras. All I did was rinse chicken waders and duck buckets this morning. It’s hot enough to sweat from just that, I’m already on my second shirt. Got some errands to do that we didn’t get done yesterday, have a great day all.

I had a good harvest this am. The first jalapenos, lots of tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, some onions went on the drying rack, more strawberries & celery.

Just waiting for the last of the eggplant to mature, then I will pull them & sow some lettuce & spinach there.

I got a flat of blueberries for $10 (that's 12 pints) yesterday so I'll be making some blueberry, bluebarb & strawberry rhubarb jam next weekend - get that over with for the year & clear out the freezer of it all.

I have a sick bird I'm going to have to cull. Not looking forward to it, she is a good bird & kind leader of the flock. She acts like a rooster getting between my 2 that fight all the time - separating & reprimanding them. I've never had a hen do that before. Poor Prue. 😔

I've wanted to turn this closet into a pantry since shortly after we bought our house. The lack of storage in the kitchen is a problem. It doesn't seem like it until you're living it.

Today I start seeds! It's going to be miserable outside again today, but that's ok.
I have the same issue. We live in a tiny cape with no basement. There is like 0 storage. I can't wait to see your finished shelving!

To find work, more food, electricity, go to court. Who knows. Regardless. It's viscous in the homeless world. Others get jealous, or quite literally think it's their stuff, not someone else's. You can also be threatened and beaten for having stuff that others want. Sometimes worse.
It's a shame that the majority of mental health centers closed. Not the one flew over the cookoo nest kind, but a place where people can get help and kept on meds that really help.

That overwhelming, claustrophobic type of heat and humidity today.
I managed to get my 12 miles in this morning before it started really getting disgusting, just barely. Near the end, with the sun blazing and it burning the dew off everything, and no wind, it was a race to get finished before loosing my sanity.
I think I'll puree the tomatoes on the counter and simmer sauce down to put in the freeze dryer along with some rice (separate trays).
