What did you do in the garden today?

I think they are ridiculously expensive for what they are. I plan to DIY a water g system for my raised beds.
I'm thinking about just making some myself that's what I was thinking about because buying something that someone else made just isn't going to make me truly believe that my garden is 100% organic. That's why I'm now asking for help coloring my raised wood pallet beds.

No worries! Not at all. Over here, we are just trying to figure out how to deal with these tapeworms!! More work to do when ground warms up so we can put in The drain line we’ve discussed for a couple of years. Then, we are planning to get another large load of chipped wood -some will go into the run. All this to get everything drier and hopefully no tapeworm vectors (the vet though earthworms were most likely vector). The earthworms are welcome in the garden though!

flies are another tapeworm vector. give your chickens plenty of grass/fruits/veggies etc. or let them forage and drink plenty of clean water and they'll be able to expel some worms. healthy chickens can cope well with worms but the sick ones need worming.

Does anyone know if there's any way to color wood naturally without chemicals or paint. I know that you can color eggs and cloth using herbs and onion skins but I don't know if it's weather proof. I'm open to any ideas that anyone might have. Please let me know what you think.

in a @gtaus thread someone mentioned rusty nails in vinegar if I remember well.

When I had Covid (not since 2020), I couldn't smell anything. Totally lost my sense of smell for like 6 months
Yes and when it came back it was some weird unknown diesel mix.
I did too, but when it was ramping up and slowly coming back, I kept smelling mystery smoke.
Weird smells aren't helpful.
I bought a natural gas detector because I never knew what I was smelling.

I was walking the dog by the creek about an hour before sunrise a couple falls ago. Just west of my property high power lines and pipelines cross the creek. The closest pipeline is about 20ft from the property line.
I could smell something strong and I was worried there was a leak. The dog was sniffing too. I turned around and figured I would look in daylight.
I forgot I had raccoon traps about 50 ft away. One had been caught and they can smell musky when they have been there overnight.

Black walnut hulls, but you won't find them until fall. They stain everything. Like your hands. Ask me how I know! :)

I knew a woman who stained her spinning wheel with walnut hulls, and it was very pretty.

I looked up Black walnut hulls on google: Anti-Parasitic. One of the key benefits of Black Walnut Hulls are their ability to expel various kinds of worms and parasites that live in the intestines.
