Yep! Or scalp mow the area and cover it in thick black plastic .. something like they use in ponds.A salt water IV maybe???
The fruit flies can ruin many things, like cucumbers and tomatoes. They get stung before they even have a chance to get any size to them. You can garden year around in Hawaii, can't you? Very nice tomatoes!
Fencing around your beds. My girls are not allowed in the gardens anymore, since they dig a lot of things up, and displace the dirt out of the raised beds. It’ll be my first year taking over the gardening duties! I repotted some seedlings that I started a few weeks ago (probably too early due to beginner’s excitement). The ground here is slowly thawing and I’ve been enjoying watching my ducks and chickens gleefully pitter pattering around.
I’ll need to come up with a plan to (attempt) to chicken proof the raised beds and edge gardens![]()
Could the little black bugs be aphids? A spray from the hose will blast them off if so.A couple of my okra plants looked pale, and some of their leaves were slightly curled. At first, I thought it was a nutrient deficiency, but I discovered that the underneath of the leaves was infested with tiny black bugs. I sprayed them with neem oil this morning. I hope they recover and catch up with the other okra plants. All of my okra plants had those tiny black bugs, but the ones that were stressing had a lot more.
I notice that the blue potatoes that I planted didn't have any bugs on them. I think the blue potato with blue leaves may be related to sweet potatoes. The bugs in my yard never bother my sweet potatoes like they do regular potatoes like Yukon Gold. I may be on to something; it would be amazing if my blue potatoes turn out to be bug resistant like my sweet potatoes.
Can you find a part of the vine by base of the plant? Cut it off there and then spray it use paint brush and brush on open stem. I use water, salt, vinegar with a little dish soap mix to kill all weeds. It works well but on weed trees etc I snip off by the base and then apply. Good luck!OK, took a walk to check on the vinegar results. It appears to have worked on the grass and other weeds but not on this d@m n vine. Grrrrrr

I've been trying to figure that out for years and I can't seem to find it either. I even took it to the Extension office and they didn't know either. It doesn't flower that I've ever seen. The vine itself is a flaky, woody cord about a pencil width in size.It would be helpful to know the identity of the vining weed. I did a Google image search and had no luck.
No... Whatever this is, it doesn't flowerI missed what it is.
Bindweed?
