What did you do in the garden today?

Rain turned to snow overnight. About a half inch or so. Will melt today. Wet sloppy mess so no gardening today. Plus, afternoon appointment. Not sure if any of the tornadoes touched down.

Good morning and happy first day of Spring! I ordered a bradford pear tree from Starks. They’re having an $18 fruit tree sale. The really good news is the shipping is only $2.08. Rainy day today so no outside work.

6 hrs after tornadoes warnings it started snowing. Just a couple inches heavy wet. No power lines down and Roads are fine. It's going up to 40f. I feel blessed

I carried the bags of gypsum up to the green house. I might carry the bag of coffee grounds from Starbucks up there later. That's it for the gardening on this sloppy, wet, cold first day of spring.

if I remember well this is 2nd time it happens. please don't wait for the 3rd time, cut that tree down and plant something else. next time you might not be that lucky.

More like 4th or 5th time... And yes, I've told DH that we should cut it down or at least figure out a way to keep it from getting so giant

Bradford pear has been outlawed in Arkansas, I think.... Very invasive. Everyone I know who deals with that tree curses it. Thankfully I don't have it on my property....

This is an update on my Marconi pepper seed experiment. The seeds that I cut the little nose off sprouted before the ones that were sown 2 weeks before. Its conclusive

I was able to change the order to a Bartlett pear. Customer service was very good.
